Woolsely said: “ be very careful of what you put into children’s heads because it will never get it out.”

We look for models that reinforce our misconceptions. Things that are real are amateur- made by hands of love and passion. Children are not empty vessels- their experience will hold and is more accurate- mental models as a child persists into adulthood- and with our professionals do not shift their understandings learned in their hands on experience. Things that are “of my world- of love and passion” your own ideas and theories- unless you work with them you can not change them. We are not empty vessels. Poor teaching is worse than can be imagines. We design tests so that people can pass them.AA :: Archangelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01919227275737626682noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1166107210450433409.post-32616064822815038822009-06-27T11:41:00.001-07:002009-08-31T21:26:51.636-07:00AA :: Archangelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01919227275737626682noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1166107210450433409.post-60881481237559850742009-04-26T11:15:00.000-07:002009-07-25T05:13:46.469-07:00LIFE'S PASSION
i said:

" I want to see as far as I can in every direction."

A voice asked:

"And, how will you do that?"

i replied:

"With my imagination."

2007 interview with the Catherdal Insitute

robert r. lackney
AA :: Archangelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01919227275737626682noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1166107210450433409.post-39934341354876651712009-03-04T08:19:00.001-08:002009-06-27T11:43:04.173-07:00INTRODUCTION1 ::: There is a serious flaw within current educational processes where a the “one size fits all” approach to teaching and learning

2 ::: What we need to do is to bring the best and the brightest into the education process and nurture our youth over an extended period of time: say 5,10,15 plus 3 years.

::: Children can do extraordinary things. the center of learning and creating connective networks that break through the boundries of disciplines, and the creative professions?

There is a serious flaw within current educational processes where a
the “one size fits all” approach to teaching and learning.

In this concept, conformity is the rule of law, creativity is sacrificed for teaching to the test, teaching without regarding teacher individuality and uniqueness.

The EDF proposes that we create an alternative educational process where "Creativity" is considered as a discipline that is the center of learning.

But, the EDF encourages Catholic educational leadership to look at the current programs and seek to discover the emerging opportunities within religious education.

What if our students, teachers, and educators visit the most progressive Catholic schools throughout the country with the single idea of inviting Catholic communities to propose alternative models of educating the next generation of Catholic youth?

What we need to do is to bring the best and the brightest into the Catholic education process and nuture this over an extended period of time: say 5,10,15 plus 3 years.

What we need to do is to make develop curricula that integrates the major disciplines and includes students, teachers, and practicing pursued.

The Educational Foundation Inc. is the process by which we identify the the best and brightest students and teachers now and recognize them through our Work + Study + Travel Don’t sleep!’

We all know sleepless nights are part of any real achievement.

Staying awake is part and parcel to any True Achievement: writing a poem, an article, a novel- making a painting from a FEELING, an image, a sketch, rehearsing lines, composing a tune, blowing a glass vase, carving marble, building a home.

Take this DREAM I had: awake at 2AM, 3AM, and 4AM.

Sometimes in a sweat with fragmented ideas thrashing around in my head:

“How big? How much? How soon?

Staring at the moonlight shadows on the bedroom ceiling, sorting through advice of the bankers, accountants, experts, and lawyers carrying yellow legal scratch pads. Half awake I try my best to crowd out all doubt that I can meet the design challenge: then the grinding of teeth, and deciding to make it happen before sunrise.

My mentor told me that: “All good things start in believing and then the keeping of the dream.”
And, I believed him, I still do. That is my experience.

And, the great spirit within asked as I awoke from my sleep:
“ … do you need a helping hand to make your dream come true?“

Yes!!!” I said: and the voice whispered:“ Look at the end of your arm!”

INNOVATION

"The word “innovation” has never meant much in isolation.
To create innovative offerings and sustainable growth requires the alignment of an organization’s goals, people, resources, and culture.

So, when we designers think about innovation as it relates to client objectives, the words “design”, “business,” and “strategy” are never far behind.

Innovation means being receptive to cultural and market trends, and applying this knowledge in forward-thinking ways to generate groundbreaking and desirable products and services for our clients.
